We'll start the night with Pizza and some socializing.

Framingham Public Library\, 49 Lexington St\, Framingham\, 01702-8218

Program:

6:30 PM to 7:00 PM: Start with free pizza and ice cream sandwiches + mingling

7:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Watch "The Choice"\, a 25 minute documentary about Portland's first election with ranked choice voting

7:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Discuss the movie and how Portland's new election system works

8:00 PM - 8:30 PM: Discuss how ranked choice voting can improve elections in cities and towns\, and ultimately\, solve problems of gerrymandering\, achieve fair representation\, and deliver voter power in state and federal elections

About "The Choice"

In "The Choice"\, you'll experience how Portland\, Oregon used ranked choice voting\, and districts that each elect three council members rather than just one\, to go from "Winner Takes All" elections to "Winners for All" elections.

The story is told by two candidates of very different backgrounds\, both eager to serve their community and seeking their first election wins.

Freedom is contagious

Since Portland's successful use of their new system\, the secret is out and some of America's biggest political influencers are talking about this "proportional representation". Used by most of the world's strongest democracies\, proportional systems feature rule by majorities\, and seats at the table for everyone to be heard. People like Pete Buttigieg\, Kamala Harris\, and Ben Wikler are looking to this reform to make gerrymandering toothless and irrelevant.

With major cities like New York\, DC\, and San Francisco all now using Ranked Choice Voting\, the local push to improve state and national politics keeps getting stronger.&nbsp\;

It is never been more clear: together we can make a difference.
